Bouillez Acoustics on PBS in Colorado
At the end July of 2017 we had a visit from the 42 Degrees North Media Company film crew to begin filming for a future PBS documentary about utilization of one of our state resources here in Colorado. Beetle Kill Pine. We were so happy to be a part of this new show known as American Forests with Chuck Leavell. Yes you heard correctly. "Chuck Leavell!" The host of the show is the Keyboard player for the Rolling Stones and has played with the Gregg Allman Band, Eric Clapton and John Meyer to name just a few. Chuck is a conservationist and supporter of companies like ours who help utilize our natural resources and keep our forests healthy. We were so excited when we received the first email from the media company.
Dan's chin dropped when he read the email and was amazed to be one of the Colorado companies chosen for the show. Not only did they come by our shop and do an interview with Dan, but they followed him through the process of building our Cajon drums. The five hour recording session was quite exciting. We feel so blessed to be a part of the show and so thankful for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
This isn't the last of it either! We then attended a recording session the following weekend with Chuck Leavell, Wendy Woo, Paul Preziosi, Mark Diamond, James Doyle, Christian Teele and Brian McCrae at the Hideaway studio in Sedalia CO. Chuck had requested to get together with all these amazing musicians and play the instruments that were built with Beetle kill pine. What a great time we had. We brought lots of Cajon drums and our prototype guitar which was played by Wendy during the recording session.
Many thanks to everyone involved in this amazing process! We could not have been more excited to be a part of it. Here are some photos of both the shop recording session and of the day at the studio. Stay tuned for the show posting expected sometime after 1/1/18!! We are so excited!!
